Alabrena | Graceful Outdoor Hanging Lantern with Faux Alabaster Panels & Sandblasted Black Aluminium
Outdoor Pendant Lighting
Make coming home feel a little more special
Give a sheltered entrance a graceful finishing touch with Alabrena. Curving black ribs trace its tall lantern shape, while pale faux alabaster panels bring a soft glow to the space beneath. The scrollwork band adds character at eye level, making this a light to enjoy in daylight as well as after dusk.
Design & Materials
A flowing outline with a little ornament
The rounded rectangular body balances slender vertical ribs with scrollwork around its middle. This combination gives the lantern a traditional character that also sits comfortably beside simpler doors and windows.
Die-cast aluminium in sandblasted black outlines the pale faux alabaster panels. The diffuser material has an alabaster-inspired appearance; the dark framework remains a clear part of the design when the light is on.
Dimensions
Choose the right presence for your porch
The Small version brings detail to a narrower entrance; the Large version gives a wider, taller outline beneath a more generous roof. Measure the fixture and the suspension separately when planning your installation.
| Size | Metric | Imperial (approx.) |
|---|---|---|
| Small | W 21 cm × H 35 cm | W 8.3″ × H 13.8″ |
| Large | W 30 cm × H 50 cm | W 11.8″ × H 19.7″ |
Suspension: adjustable chain up to 150 cm (approximately 59.1″). Fixture height and suspension are separate; the final ceiling-to-bottom drop depends on the installed suspension and canopy.

Specifications & what's included
Lighting Character
A gentle glow behind a decorative frame
Alabrena's translucent panels diffuse the central bulb so the lantern reads as a softly lit form. One replaceable E26 / E27 bulb is included. The enclosure creates the visual softness; the bulb determines the final light colour and brightness.
Placement Inspiration
Bring continuity to a sheltered exterior
Pair the black finish with dark door hardware, or let it stand out against pale render and stone. Choose a position where the scrollwork can be appreciated without placing the lantern in the walking line.
Each purchase includes one pendant. Order the quantity needed if your layout uses more than one.
Outdoor Performance
Choose a considered outdoor setting
Alabrena is intended for outdoor hanging-light applications in sheltered settings such as covered porches, verandas and patios. Its die-cast aluminium frame supports the decorative panelled enclosure. Choose a protected mounting position appropriate to the site.
Installation
Plan the hanging position before fitting
Alabrena uses a hardwired AC 110–240V mains connection and a suitable ceiling mounting point. Set the adjustable chain during installation, allowing for the fixture height and comfortable clearance beneath it. Check that doors, furniture and nearby circulation areas remain clear.
Installation by a qualified electrician. Have the fitting installed in accordance with local electrical requirements.
Care
Keep the materials looking their best
Switch off the power before cleaning. Wipe the aluminium frame and faux alabaster panels gently with a soft, dry or lightly dampened cloth. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh chemical cleaners.

Front Door & Porch Lights
Common Questions
Wall lights are ideal beside a front door or on a porch with limited ceiling height. A hanging pendant creates a stronger focal point beneath a covered porch with sufficient overhead clearance. Consider the available mounting point, door swing and walking space before choosing.
Choose a fitting that feels proportional to the door and surrounding wall. A compact lantern suits a narrow entrance, while a larger wall light or pendant can balance a wide doorway or taller porch. Check the full height, width and projection shown on each product page before ordering.
Porch wall lights are commonly positioned with the centre of the fitting around eye level, approximately 165–180 cm above the ground. For a pair, keep both lights at the same height. Your installer can adjust the position to suit the door, steps and proportions of the entrance.
The right IP rating depends on exposure. A fitting beneath a fully covered porch may require less protection than one mounted where wind-driven rain can reach it. Check the IP rating and outdoor-use guidance on the individual product page, and choose a higher level of protection for exposed entrances.
Warm white light, generally around 2700K–3000K, creates a soft and welcoming feel around a front door. Cooler light can appear brighter and more functional, but may feel less relaxed. Always confirm the colour-temperature option available for the selected fitting.
Yes. A motion-sensor light can illuminate the entrance automatically when someone approaches, making it easier to find keys and improving visibility for visitors. If you want the porch illuminated continuously in the evening, choose a non-sensor model or check whether the sensor settings can be adjusted.
Most hardwired wall and hanging porch lights should be installed by a qualified electrician. They can confirm that the wiring, mounting point, ceiling support where required, earthing and weatherproof seals are suitable for safe outdoor use.
