Common Questions
A layered scheme usually works best: a ceiling or pendant light for general illumination, wall lights for atmosphere, and floor or table lamps for reading and softer evening light. Combining these gives you flexibility for different activities.
Consider the room dimensions, ceiling height and furniture layout. The fitting should feel proportional without obstructing views or movement. Always compare the product's diameter, height and drop with the available space before ordering.
Warm white light, generally around 2700K–3000K, creates a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Neutral light can suit task areas, but using a consistent warm tone across nearby fixtures usually creates the most comfortable result.
Place them beside sofas, armchairs, consoles or darker corners where additional ambient or reading light is needed. Keep cables clear of walkways and position shades so the bulb is not directly visible at seated eye level.
Yes. Wall sconces can frame artwork, highlight architectural details and add ambient light without using floor space. They work especially well as part of a layered scheme rather than as the room's only light source.
Dimming is useful because the room may need brighter light for reading or entertaining and softer light for relaxing. Confirm that the selected fitting, LED driver and wall control are compatible with dimming before installation.
Yes. Pendant, ceiling and hardwired wall lights should be installed by a qualified electrician, who can confirm the circuit, ceiling support, earthing and dimmer compatibility where required.
