A welcoming driveway
Colvane creates a tall architectural marker along a driveway or garden approach. Vertical illuminated strips sit within the upper section of a 3-metre column, with rectangular, square and round profiles available. Choose a single fixture or a set of four for a repeated arrangement.
Rectangular, square and round columns offer three distinct outlines.
Each profile stands 300 cm tall for a pronounced architectural presence.
Select the fixture quantity for an individual marker or a repeated installation.
Choose warm white 3000K or cool white 6000K; these are separate versions.
Design & Materials
Architectural lines in galvanised steel
The rectangular form is narrow in depth, the square version has equal sides, and the round version softens the outline. All are finished in matte black.
Galvanised steel forms the column, with clear acrylic covers over the light strips. The fixture needs a planned foundation and electrical connection.

Choose Warm White 3000K for a softer evening appearance or Cool White 6000K for a crisper light. The integrated strips illuminate the upper section of each column; the light colour is fixed for the selected version.

Protection for outdoor placement
IP65-rated protection supports outdoor placement. Keep the fixture out of standing water and do not immerse it.
Installation
Prepare the power and placement
Arrange installation by a qualified electrician using a compatible supply and suitable outdoor connections. Fix the base securely to a suitable surface and confirm the fixing pattern before preparing the site. Isolate the supply before installation or maintenance. The 3 m columns need an appropriately designed foundation and secure anchoring; obtain the manufacturer’s fixing and structural requirements before site work.

Care for the materials
Switch off before cleaning. Wipe the body and diffuser with a soft, lightly dampened cloth, then dry. Avoid abrasive pads, solvents and soaking.

Common Questions
Pillar or post-cap lights can mark the entrance, while wall lights and bollards help illuminate gates, boundary walls and the route towards the property. Combining these at a consistent colour temperature creates clear guidance without flooding the entire driveway.
Driveway lighting should provide enough visibility for vehicles and pedestrians without creating glare for drivers, neighbours or the road. Several well-spaced, lower-output fittings often produce a safer and more balanced result than one very bright light.
Place lights where they identify the entrance, gate controls, pedestrian access and any changes in level. Keep fittings outside vehicle turning areas and clear of moving gates, hinges and door-opening zones.
Yes, if the fence is strong enough to support the fitting and the light is suitable for outdoor use. Check the mounting-base size, projection and cable requirements, and avoid positions where the fitting could obstruct gates or be easily struck.
Motion sensors can provide light only when a vehicle or person approaches, which is useful for entrances and darker sections of a drive. Choose a model with a detection range and direction suited to the space to reduce unwanted activation from the road or neighbouring areas.
Solar lights are convenient where cabling is difficult, but require sufficient daylight and may vary with the season. Hardwired fittings provide more consistent output and are generally better when reliable nightly illumination is important.
Hardwired fittings should be installed by a qualified electrician. They can plan protected cable routes, safe connections, earthing and weatherproof seals while keeping the installation clear of vehicles and moving gate components.
