Modern Outdoor Post Light for Gate Pillars, Fence Posts and Driveways
Most post lights announce themselves. This one lights the stone instead — four panels of marbled glass that glow like alabaster once the sun goes down, sitting flat on the pillar rather than perched above it.
The frame is die-cast aluminium in black, low and square, so a run of them reads as a line of light down a driveway rather than a row of fittings. Solar or hardwired, and in four heights — the smallest tucks into a garden bed, the tallest holds its own on a gatepost.

Pillar or post-cap lights can mark the entrance, while wall lights and bollards help illuminate gates, boundary walls and the route towards the property. Combining these at a consistent colour temperature creates clear guidance without flooding the entire driveway.
Driveway lighting should provide enough visibility for vehicles and pedestrians without creating glare for drivers, neighbours or the road. Several well-spaced, lower-output fittings often produce a safer and more balanced result than one very bright light.
Place lights where they identify the entrance, gate controls, pedestrian access and any changes in level. Keep fittings outside vehicle turning areas and clear of moving gates, hinges and door-opening zones.
Yes, if the fence is strong enough to support the fitting and the light is suitable for outdoor use. Check the mounting-base size, projection and cable requirements, and avoid positions where the fitting could obstruct gates or be easily struck.
Motion sensors can provide light only when a vehicle or person approaches, which is useful for entrances and darker sections of a drive. Choose a model with a detection range and direction suited to the space to reduce unwanted activation from the road or neighbouring areas.
