Solmere | Classic Outdoor Wall Lantern in Aluminium & Glass, Solar or Hardwired, Warm 3000K
HEITZ / OUTDOOR WALL LIGHTING
Bring a familiar lantern shape to a new setting
Solmere gives the classic wall lantern a compact, neatly framed form. A projecting roof and gridded glass create its recognisable outline, while warm 3000K light suits a welcoming entrance. Choose Black or Bronze, then select Solar or Hardwired to match how the space will be powered.
Design & Materials
Details that define Solmere
The die-cast aluminium frame surrounds glass panels, with a broad roof completing the silhouette. At 34 cm high, it brings decorative character without the scale of an oversized lantern.
Choose Black to echo darker hardware, or Bronze to complement warmer doors and masonry. Use one finish consistently when ordering a matching set.

Lighting Character
Choose the atmosphere for your exterior
Warm 3000K keeps the lantern’s evening appearance welcoming. The hardwired version uses an E26 / E27 bulb base and includes its bulb. The solar version has its own included light source; choose the power option that fits the location rather than treating the two as interchangeable installations.
Placement Inspiration
Make the light part of the setting
Use the lantern to repeat the colour of a gate, door handle or roof trim. Solar models need a location with adequate sunlight, so check shade from eaves, trees and neighbouring buildings before planning a matching pair.
Choose Single for one fitting or the stated Set quantity for a matching group. Select the same main configuration where a consistent arrangement is intended.
Outdoor Performance
An exterior fitting with a considered installation
Solmere has an IP55 rating for outdoor use. Choose a suitable wall position and have the mounting and connections completed according to the supplied instructions. Keep the enclosure intact and the fitting accessible for routine care.
Installation
Plan the position before fitting
The hardwired version connects to AC 110–240V. Solar operation depends on exposure to sunlight; the stated charging and runtime figures vary with weather, season and use. Allow clearance above and beside the roof and follow the instructions supplied with the selected version.
Have mains electrical work completed by a qualified electrician in accordance with local requirements.
Care
Keep the finish and light surfaces clear
Switch off the light and isolate its power supply as instructed before cleaning. Use a soft, dry or lightly dampened cloth on the frame and shade, and let surfaces dry fully. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh chemical cleaners.

Front Door & Porch Lights
Common Questions
Wall lights are ideal beside a front door or on a porch with limited ceiling height. A hanging pendant creates a stronger focal point beneath a covered porch with sufficient overhead clearance. Consider the available mounting point, door swing and walking space before choosing.
Choose a fitting that feels proportional to the door and surrounding wall. A compact lantern suits a narrow entrance, while a larger wall light or pendant can balance a wide doorway or taller porch. Check the full height, width and projection shown on each product page before ordering.
Porch wall lights are commonly positioned with the centre of the fitting around eye level, approximately 165–180 cm above the ground. For a pair, keep both lights at the same height. Your installer can adjust the position to suit the door, steps and proportions of the entrance.
The right IP rating depends on exposure. A fitting beneath a fully covered porch may require less protection than one mounted where wind-driven rain can reach it. Check the IP rating and outdoor-use guidance on the individual product page, and choose a higher level of protection for exposed entrances.
Warm white light, generally around 2700K–3000K, creates a soft and welcoming feel around a front door. Cooler light can appear brighter and more functional, but may feel less relaxed. Always confirm the colour-temperature option available for the selected fitting.
Yes. A motion-sensor light can illuminate the entrance automatically when someone approaches, making it easier to find keys and improving visibility for visitors. If you want the porch illuminated continuously in the evening, choose a non-sensor model or check whether the sensor settings can be adjusted.
Most hardwired wall and hanging porch lights should be installed by a qualified electrician. They can confirm that the wiring, mounting point, ceiling support where required, earthing and weatherproof seals are suitable for safe outdoor use.
