A rounded paper lantern at your chosen scale
Washielle is a rounded paper pendant light made from hand-bonded white mulberry paper over a metal structure. Ten single-shade sizes and five multi-light configurations offer a range of scales for dining rooms, bedrooms and open living spaces.
Fine paper and visible ribs give the lantern a light, textured surface.
Diameters range from 40 to 120 cm.
Three two-light combinations, one three-light and one five-light configuration are listed.
Small glue traces at shade edges can occur during the paper-bonding process.
Gallery images show the white-cable version. Black cable is available through the Finish selector.

A glow through fine paper
The paper shade diffuses the bulb light for a soft, atmospheric glow. Light colour depends on the fitted bulb; choose a compatible warm-white bulb for a warmer appearance.

Finding the right setting
Plan the fixture around the furniture, ceiling support and clearances in your room.
Choose a single shade or a listed cluster to fit the table and fixing positions.
A smaller lantern adds a soft paper texture overhead.
Larger diameters and clusters need generous clearance and appropriately rated ceiling support.

Installation
Plan the mounting and power connection
Have a qualified electrician confirm the selected single or cluster arrangement, load, ceiling fixing points and lamp-holder rating before installation. Cluster spans are not fixed by the individual shade diameters. Keep paper clear of bulbs, heat, flames and moisture.
Care
Care for the materials
Isolate power and let bulbs cool. Dust the paper lightly with a clean soft brush without pressing or wetting it. Do not wash or use cleaning sprays; keep moisture away from the hand-bonded seams.

Combine a soft ceiling light with bedside lamps or wall sconces and optional accent lighting. This provides general illumination when needed while allowing a calmer, lower level of light before sleep.
Warm white light, generally around 2700K–3000K, creates a comfortable and restful atmosphere. Cooler light can be useful at a dressing area or desk, but may feel less relaxing near the bed.
Yes. Wall sconces free up bedside-table space and can provide focused reading or ambient light. Adjustable designs are helpful for reading, while diffused shades create a softer glow.
The ideal height depends on the bed, mattress and fitting. Position the light so it is easy to reach and illuminates the reading area without shining directly into your eyes. Confirm the final position while seated in bed.
Dimming is useful for transitioning from brighter dressing or cleaning light to softer evening illumination. Confirm that the selected fitting, driver or bulb is dimmable and compatible with the chosen control.
A flush or semi-flush fitting keeps the room feeling open and preserves headroom. Check the total drop as well as the diameter to ensure the light suits the room and does not interfere with doors or wardrobes.
