A note before you buy — This is the larger of our two square post caps at 30 cm, with a 27 cm base; if your pier is narrower, the 25 cm Pagoda Pillar Light is the better fit. Measure the pier top against the 27 cm base rather than the 30 cm cap, since the cap is designed to overhang slightly. Some assembly is required and the E27 bulb is not listed as supplied, so plan to fit your own. All dimensions are hand-measured and may vary by 1–3cm. For the best and safest result, professional installation by a qualified electrician is recommended.

Driveway lighting should provide enough visibility for vehicles and pedestrians without creating glare for drivers, neighbours or the road. Several well-spaced, lower-output fittings often produce a safer and more balanced result than one very bright light.
Place lights where they identify the entrance, gate controls, pedestrian access and any changes in level. Keep fittings outside vehicle turning areas and clear of moving gates, hinges and door-opening zones.
Yes, if the fence is strong enough to support the fitting and the light is suitable for outdoor use. Check the mounting-base size, projection and cable requirements, and avoid positions where the fitting could obstruct gates or be easily struck.
Motion sensors can provide light only when a vehicle or person approaches, which is useful for entrances and darker sections of a drive. Choose a model with a detection range and direction suited to the space to reduce unwanted activation from the road or neighbouring areas.
Solar lights are convenient where cabling is difficult, but require sufficient daylight and may vary with the season. Hardwired fittings provide more consistent output and are generally better when reliable nightly illumination is important.
